It seems that the record companies are increasing the number of CD
released with various forms of so-called 'copy-protection'.
Thousands of these disks are going to be received as presents over the
Christmas festivities, or purchased during the 'Christmas sales'.
We should take this opportunity to inform the public (again) as to what
is happening to their freedoms and hopefully get those, who may not
have bothered, to return these corrupt CD's and complain like hell.....
Another leafleting session would also presumably slow down the record
industry's sales over a period of mass consumption, and show that
people do care about their rights.
As a finger pointing issue, can some statistics of offending record
companies be placed on the website. I for one would be concerned that
the music that I buy would turn up with this so-called 'copy-protection'.
The most recent of which have been purchased mail-order and arrived via
Hong Kong, and thus are not that easy to return as 'faulty'.
If I have to stay away from (say) BMG titles, then I will.....
