I think we need to be very firm in making the general moral case that copying
for personal use is justified, and that content protection will have a
devestating affect on the public domain. The techinical and legal issues are
theoretically solveable, even if they are easier to explain.

Hmm, I don't know about charity... but if we're going to collect donations
and/or memberships and pay someone to work part or full time, limited
liability and a formal legal structure would be a good idea.
