    What do the numbers on the inside of a CD's ring mean?
For example:
UK Release Radiohead, The Bends 829626 2:1:31 EMI Swindon
UK Release Radiohead, The Bends 829626  2  EMI Swindon
USA Release Third Eye Blind, Blue 4R E262415 IFPIL433
UK Release David Gray, White Ladder IFPI L011 857382983-2 04/00

    Do any of these numbers signify the batch number it was printed on? The
evidence is clear now that record labels are running batches of "copy
protected" CDs in with the main pressing, to what % is not known.
    We hope to determine if these numbers can help us lock on to corrupt CD
batches.
