Got back late last night from meeting in London with Caspar and Greg
Taylor from EFA (see http://www.advogato.org/person/jtjm for diary entry)
to discover 70 KB of IRC logs, and that I'd said at last meeting would do
various things almost none of which I had.

Diary entry referenced explains why (basically, lost three days of
holiday to various network outages, and spent most of available spare time
during holiday getting stuff set up for FIPR - amount of FIPR related work
I'll be doing over next few weeks likely to be increasing, rather than
decreasing).

Last night's IRC meeting seems enormously productive - apologies to all
those who went through last weeks minutes noting that 'JTJM' had said he
would do such and such, and then utterly failed to deliver on almost all
counts. Wasn't expecting to lose entire weekend to FIPR, but did.

However, am not likely to have much more time over next few weeks. I've
asked Peter Clay to "ensure things get done", and be quite religious in
chasing me or others who say they'll do X, but don't deliver on time.
Peter is a nice chap, considerably less volatile and prone to rants than
me, and has experience of "making things happen" in various other
societies previously. Furthermore, he works only about 50 yards away from
me at Zeus, so can hurl reminders at me easily whenever I do actually
promise to do things (which will be considerably less often than before).

I'm not going to be going away, just spending time mostly on helping get
basic strategy and tactics right, and less getting hands dirty making it
happen, (because CDR and Zeus were already nearly two full time jobs (at
times anyway), and now am heavily involved in FIPR- I can almost hack two
jobs, but three /will/ kill me (or at the very least annoy anyone who
relies on me to find time between context-switches to actually /do/
something)).

Anyway, enough on that subject - next for CDR is to get the enormous list
of action items from last night's meeting and get as many of them as
possible done - over to you, Peter ;-)

All the best,

Julian
