Doesn't it have to work in *all* CD players? Including those
in PCs, in DVD players, ...etc. Clearly its the CD itself that's
the problem, not the player, since the player plays unadulterated
CDs as per spec.

Did you ask to speak to his supervisor? That often gets results ...

In a paranoid world I'd be ready to believe that. But then, this _is_
a paranoid world ...

Perhaps you could phone Trading Standards and complain to them about
Trading Standards, since the service they're offering clearly isn't
"as advertised". .-, (half a smiley). After all, they're supposed to
at least _investigate_ complaints, not just reject them out of hand on
the opinion of one officer.

I wonder what Watchdog or the CA would have to say about Trading Standards'
behaviour?
