Indeed, the guy's either been told to say this or has made up
his own nonsense. Talking to his boss would help to verify which
is going on., I find it unlikely that Trading Standards have an
official policy of not caring about sub-standard CDs.

I'm sure PS2s and computers are sometimes labelled this way. My
PC has a drive marked "Compact Disc", for example. What's that=20
supposed to mean, if not that it plays CDs?
