To me it seems that governments are mostly acting to
"protect industry" (translation: protect the business
models that made their campaign donors rich) and
"fight terrorism" (translation: fight real terrorism
plus anyone else they choose not to like this week for
whatever reason... I was told the other day that Food
Not Bombs are officially a 'terrorist' organisation in
the states, which may or may not be true but is
certainly plausible.
