There is an article in the Guardian today saying that the government's
disability bill anticipated for the next parliament has been shelved. So,
there'll be adequate coverage of access for disabled people to TPM protected
media in the forthcoming (late!) EUCD consultation document from the Patent
Office instead then? ...

  Equally disappointed
Labour "ducks its commitment to disability rights"
  http://www.guardian.co.uk/Archive/Article/0,4273,4462427,00.html

  [...]
The Labour party's 1997 general election manifesto promised to
introduce "enforceable civil rights for disabled people against
discrimination in society or at work".
  [...]

Surely lack of read-aloud support for encrypted e-books falls into the
"discrimination in society" category.
