i may well be able to help here - i'm married to a US citizen and have
been there off and on during this year - i'm now in Australia doing my
green card application. but i am strongly of the opinion that US stamps
are under stringent copyright, i wouldnt include them... contacting the
relevant authorities - probably starting with the US Post Office itself
- would be the best avenue I would think, or the Copyright Office...
can't remember what its called but they have one similiar to ours, they
may be able to advise on whether you can make 'significant alterations',
but I very much doubt it. postage stamps are representative of the
country, and I think they are likely to have one of the strongest
copyrights of all.
however, if you want some scanned, i do happen to have a few.... ;p
